How Time Fly's

Well it seems the first quarter of the year has come and gone. Just like that the month of Mark...I mean March is over. Here's a quick recap of what we've been up to so far.

In January, Mark and I ran in the P.F.Chang's Rock N Roll Half Marathon (13.1 miles). We both ran personal best times in under 2 hours. A couple days after our race we had an appointment to get vaccinated for our trip to China. I think we left there with 5 shots each and some tablets to swallow. We also celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary on the 23rd of January. (We wanted to get to know each other a little better before adding to the family - and then we started with animals as a precaution.) Better late than never....we're ready for our baby now.

February was a non-eventful month. We did, however, reduce the size of our (animal) family by one. I finally sold one of my horses after overcoming a few obstacles along the way. That being an understatement. It was also time for a booster shot for Hepatitis B (for our China trip). We go back for one more booster in August and then we should be covered. Oh how could I forget. Annette (Mark's sister) came out for a visit in February. Sorry sista' - did I mention what a good time we had!

Oooh and then there was March! The birthday. The new guitar. The snow. This blog started. The concerts (I'm not just referring to Mark jammin' in the bedroom either). We actually attended a few concerts. On the 3rd we saw Nickelback. It was a spur of the moment decision to drive down and see if we could scalp some tickets...ended up with great seats at a good price. Way back in October we purchased tickets for Bon Jovi on March 9th. The show was outstanding! They played for 3 hours. During the concert they also taped footage for a new video for the song "Who Says You Can't Go Home" (which they sang 3 times to make sure they had enough footage). If you look back at the archives for March 2006, you'll get caught up on the rest of March.

April started off well. Neither of us were fooled on the 1st. On Saturday the whole family headed down to Mill Ave to check out the Tempe Spring Arts Festival. Yep, all of us - me, Mark, Gudrun and of course Asko. Weather was great, in the high 70's. Lot's of vendors and people (and pet) watching. Asko greeted all dogs with a lick on the face and most unaware humans with a sniff from behind. After a quick bite and a nap, Mark and I returned for the evening concerts. They had several bands performing throughout the day. We went back to see Vertical Horizon and Train - we then headed for home around 10pm 'cuz Mark had to be up at 3:45am for a trip. Ouch! Well those were the highlights for the first quarter. Tune in again for more "life in between" waiting.
