Literature Day

Melanie's school does not celebrate Halloween, however, they have a Literature Day.  The kids dress up as their favorite storybook character.  They could also bring in a "pumpkin sidekick"(or decorate your pumpkin like a character as well).  All the classes line up and parade around the school to show off their costumes to the each other.  Melanie is reading a series of books called "Unicorn School"and that is how she decided on her costume for the day.
