We have GOT to be next.
There are three of us families in the Special Needs program at our agency. One of the other families, the Stults family, received their LOA a week before we did. This past week they received their travel approval. Yeah! They are leaving for China this Friday the 23rd. The Stults family actually live only 3 miles from us. We have emailed each other and plan to keep the kids in touch with each other since they spent the first year of their lives together half way around the world. Amy and Dave (Stults) have a 3 year old named Ruby that they adopted from China as well. Ruby's new sister's name is Molly. Molly is one month older than Melanie. Amy offered to take Melanie a care package or to take pictures for us. We were thinking of sending along a blanket that Mark and I would sleep with to get our scent on it. If Melanie were able to actually get it before we go pick her up, atleast our scent would be somewhat familiar to her. Sometimes the orphanage waits until the day you come to give the baby gifts. That way the gift doesn't get shuffled around the orphanage and Melanie never gets it back. With the Chinese New Year holiday week ahead of us, the wait is unpredictable. So basically, nothing has changed. Still shooting for March. We want next!
